Our journey began on Saturday at Heathrow with our first flight, the 2.15 to Doha. Then it was a quick change of planes and onto Singapore.
4.15pm local time, Sunday: We’ve arrived at the Peninsular Excelsior Hotel in downtown Singapore from Changi Airport.
We’re shattered, but plan to try and stay awake and adjust to the jet-lag if we can as we’ve got almost a complete day here tomorrow before picking up the Cruise Ship late afternoon. We want to see how the place has changed since we were last here, 20 or so years ago.
Well, there’s certainly a lot more commercial buildings and the Marina has been developed into something much more attractive. The shopping malls are as impressive as ever and we even saw a Marks and Spencer’s!
Tomorrow will be another day of exploring!
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
