We left ours around 10.30 and arrived at theirs just after 12.
After a light lunch of sandwiches and soft drinks, we set off for Hatfield House. It’s one we’ve never actually been to, and it was definitely worth the short drive. The place is massive, and unusually, these days, in private hands.
We had a good look around the house which was packed with tapestries, paintings and gorgeous ceilings. Unfortunately, they don’t allow photographs nor video inside the house, so nothing to show here – but if you like old houses, this is a must!
We took a break at the restaurant on-site and tucked into tea, cookies and cake. It was a scorching hot day so we sat outside listening to a solo saxophonist – perfect summer weather in SEPTEMBER!!!
We headed back and settled in the garden for a couple of hours. I spent time drinking beer, practising my light sabre skills and challenging Oliver with a game similar to Connect4.
We chilled-out in the evening watching the DVD: Clash of the Titans and fell into bed around 10.45pm. It’s a lazy day planned for tomorrow.
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
