After landing, we took the train from Fiumicino (Leonardo Da Vinci) Airport – thirty minutes, 28 Euros and a fifteen minute walk later we arrived at the Hotel Augusta Lucilla Palace – find it on Google Maps HERE.
The weather is cold and rainy and we’ve discovered how high the kerbs are and how many pot-holes there are, when you’re towing your luggage!
4.10pm: We’re in room 405 – compact and bijoux is probably the most accurate description, but at least it’s quiet, even with the windows open – I guess that’s good for the centre of the city!!!
We probably won’t do much more today except go out exploring and get our bearings – and find somewhere to eat. I did spot a McDonald’s on the walk here, but I have a feeling, we won’t be going there!!!
Ciao!!! More tomorrow!
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
