Rick Wakeman and Jon Anderson Blog

We went to see the Rick and Jon and partly refurbished Derngate Theatre in Northampton. We learned that this is likely to be Rick’s last season of touring.

As usual, Rick was excellent – a truly gifted paino player and as jovial as ever!

Not really sure about Jon. ‘Yes’ was never my favourite band and although he’s got a good voice, the poor sound mix didn’t help with the clarity of lyrics nor the relative volume of instruments and voice…

They played from 7.30 until 10 with two numbers in the encore – ‘Owner of a Lonely Heart’ and ‘Roundabout’.
