We picked up David and Val and headed for Stamford. We’re spending today and Sunday morning with Nick and Celina. Weather looks horrible, but I’m sure we’ll make the best of it.
Luckily for us, the weather brightened up and after a few circuits of the car-park, we all met-up and headed for The Crown for a quick lunch.
Suitably stuffed, we then headed off into the town for a mooch round the shops and then it was back to N and C’s for a catch-up with newspapers and a gossip.
We ate in – courtesy of Celina’s rather superb slow roasted lamb casserole and Nick’s home-made rice pudding with apple and butterscotch sauce. We then relaxed in comfy chairs and chilled-out – with me extending the definition, and falling asleep in the chair!!!! I woke up just in time to say good-night and go to bed!!!
Sunday began with a thick frost complemented by a full-English breakfast! Then it was time to head home, as Celina was off for a substantial run a little later.
We arrived home around midday and headed straight into the garden and operation ‘winter tidy-up’. A couple of hours later, it was all done – and we spent the rest of the afternoon recovering! 🙂
Back to reality tomorrow!!!
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
