Nicki stayed over, and after taking on one of our traditional full-english breakfasts (and winning), and sorting out a date for our next get-together, headed home. Ann and Lee then went shopping for a few bits for Avondale Mews.
We met up at Lee’s just before lunch and finished off most of the remaining boxes that needed unpacking. I assembled Lee’s new LG TV for upstairs and although it’s working fine, the aerial on the roof is circa 1800! and only provides a signal for the 4 terrestrial channels plus a very mushy picture for Channel 5 (which I think is pretty normal).
I’d say that Lee’s 90% there in terms of moving in – BT are due tomorrow to install the telephone and internet connection and there are a few ‘odd-jobs’ to do such as kitchen shelving, curtain poles and a few electrical tasks – all well beyond my expertise, but Lee has that organised.
I stopped off at the newly cleaned-up Kettering Municipal Dump on the way back (so that’s where the council’s spending money!), to deposit about half-a-ton of cardboard from the move and then it was home for lunch.
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
