We drove to Leicester this evening to see and hear David in concert (in a very nice building owned by Leicester University). He is the Chairman of the ‘Cecilian Singers’, a small group of very professional ‘Sally Army’ choristers. We think there about 100 or so people there in total.
It was a great mix of Christmas Carols – some well-known songs as well as some we had never heard before. Two included audience participation, (‘Hark! The Herald Angels Sing’ and ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’), which really got us in the mood for Christmas. Click the Programme on the left for a full list of the songs or click HERE.
In between Christmas Carols we also heard ‘Richard Phillips & Friends’ a ‘Brass Group with Piano’ who come from our home town here in Kettering.
There was food too plus a raffle! We got home quite late for us 11.15pm.
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
