Continuing our holiday breaks here in the UK, this time, we’re spending time in a shed! 😮 (an ex-tractor shed that is!) courtesy of Sykes Cottages.
Located north-west of Shrewsbury, sandwiched between the A483 and the A5 in the village of Kinnerley (population just 1108!), it’s a new(ish) addition to the Sykes Cottages property portfolio, imaginatively called – yes, you guessed it – ‘The Tractor Shed‘.

Luckily, there is no sign of any agricultural vehicles leaving plenty of room for pretty much every mod-con – including FREE use of an EV charger for the car 🙂. We’re spending six nights here and aim to cover as much of the local area as time (and our legs) will allow! 😉

5.02pm: We’ve arrived. 3871 miles on the odometer when we left Kettering just after 3pm, it’s now on 3984. It was a perfect journey – no holdups at all, with the weather, a comfy warm 18℃ and dry outside with a bonus of not much traffic on the roads at all. The A14… M6… M54… and finally the A5 all flowed very smoothly.

Layout-wise, it’s a little unusual in that the bedroom is downstairs whilst the lounge is located on the first-floor. It’s certainly been equipped to a very high standard. There is no mobile reception at all (😲) but the WiFi is a bit like me these days (slowish but stable and reliable!). 😂
It all feels very classy here and very cosy too! It’s not the largest property we’ve ever stayed in, but based on our first impressions, the conversion from a home for tractors to a home for travellers is a complete success!
First job was to plug in the car in – simplicity itself with the charger on the front of the property. We then got unpacked and made our plans for tomorrow.
I feel a lazy evening coming on! 👍 Tomorrow having polished the National Trust cards, we’re going to visit Erdigg in Wrexham followed by Chirk Castle. See you on the other side!

I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s!
My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community.
But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure!
On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there’s no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
