We took a drive to The George, Great Oxendon today, picking up Paul & Sue along the way. They know it well, but for us, it was our first visit.
Wow! First impressions were excellent. The unassuming entrance gave way to a very tasteful interior. It all looked very tasteful without being too over-the-top – very classy!
We were soon shown to our table and looking through the menu.
We’d booked our table for 12.30 and although it was pretty quiet when we arrived, it soon filled up – surely a good sign, given it was only Tuesday!
It WAS a good sign! 😁
The service was excellent from start to finish, whilst the food punched well above its weight.
In fact, the food was so tasty, I forgot to snap a picture of my Starter – Curried Parsnip Soup!
Every mouthful was packed with flavour, and although we’re spoilt for choice ’round the parts’ for good eateries, this was the tastiest meal I’ve had for a good many years! 👍👍
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
