Holiday in Northumberland – Day 5 (of 7): Alnwick and Hot Stones

Reading time: < 1 minute...

Day 5, and it’s all a bit dull out there! So we thought we’d stay local today – and visit Alnwick, as we haven’t wandered round here for nearly 20 years.

The White Swan’s claim to fame is that its Olympic Suite is largely made up from parts of the restaurant from the RMS Olympic (sister ship to the better known and ill-fated RMS Titanic).

Apart from the Sun, the only thing that was missing was any Butchers’ shops. Where are they? But who needs meat anyway? – Ann bought me another shirt! With the shopping sorted, we headed back to the Cottage.
