I’ve just learned that The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is coming to the big screen on December 9 – just in time for Christmas. That’s excellent news, as I thought the first two big-screen adaptations were simply brilliant!!
Written in 1950, by C S Lewis, and published in 1952, Lucy and Edmund Pevensie together with their (unloved) cousin Eustace are transported to the magical land of Narnia where they’re reunited with Prince (now King) Caspian. Together they board the ship, the Dawn Treader in search of the Seven Lords, where they encounter old friends – and enemies along the way.
There has always been strong parallels between the Narnia novels and the Bible – in this book the links appear even stronger:
“…there I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason why you were brought to Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there…“
– Aslan
No doubt the special effects will be nothing short of eye-popping, and if the film sticks closely to the book, it’ll be a superb film.

I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
