Well, as many newspapers speculated some time back, David Tennant has decided to leave Doctor Who after the four ‘specials’ next year. I guess this was a difficult decision as he has really made the role his own – and even if you are not a Who fan, you can’t fail to be impressed by how he brought his interpretation to life and impressed even the doom-sayers who thought ‘Who’, as a series, was dead-in-the-water.

He made the announcement after winning the outstanding drama performance prize at the National Television Awards 2008.

The BBC interview quoted DT saying: “…better to go when there’s a chance people might miss you than hang around and outstay your welcome…”
