Took a trip to the Dealership today to clear-out Ann’s car. We’ve still not heard from the Insurance Company regarding what they’ll offer us, but we’re obviously looking for the best price! This was a really sad moment – yes, it’s only four wheels and a lump of metal, but the car has been with us since March 2002 and it saw me through some difficult times when the business wasn’t doing so well. The fact that it was all paid-for also made it an attractive possession. Apart from the problems we had with the alternator a few years back, it was very reliable and very comfy on long journeys.
So, life goes on and we’re a one-car-family for the short-term. This will mean some careful scheduling of which-of-us-is-going-where so we can make best use of my new car.
Nicki Visits…
Nicki arrived around 9.30 and after some chilling out and catching-up, Ann and Nicki went off shopping. They got back about 1.30 and we sat outside and had lunch – pizza and salad. The weather was GORGEOUS!
After lunch, around 3, the girls went for a walk to Wicksteed whilst I stayed at home and cleared up. We probably going to use the BBQ tonight for the first time this year!
The girls got back around 4.30, so it was time to catch up with the newspapers and generally chill-out…
We ate late and Nicki left around 9pm. It was good to see her and we’ve set another date in the diary for a few month’s time…
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
