We’re off!
From home, we took the train (1 hour) into St Pancras International and then the tube to Heathrow T5 (65 minutes and 25 stops!).
It was all a bit of a challenge with four suitcases, two carry-on bags, two handbags, a back-pack and a laptop case – but at least they saw us coming! 😁
After all that weight-lifting, it was a relaxing hour in BA Lounge, before jumping on board ‘BA039’ (a Boeing 777, no less) for the 4.25pm overnight-5000 mile-hop to Beijing.
If all goes to plan, 10 hours later, we’ll touch-down on Tuesday around 9.30am local time (they’re seven hours ahead of Kettering) before going walkies for a bit – as it’ll be too early to check-in.
We’ve got a busy 19 days, taking in the sights and sounds of a country that’s so very different from home – and we can’t wait!
See you (virtually) on the other side!
Or maybe not… as we know that using social media in China is going to be a challenge! 😮
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
Travelling light then? What do you find to take! Have fun……..x
