18.30. Here we are then, we’ve just arrived at the Hilton Rotterdam. The journey here was interesting- when we arrived at Brussels Station, our connecting train was nonowhere to be seen on the departure boards – a worrying sign!!!
A quick visit to the information desk revealed that the train itself didn’t exist anymore!!!! Apparently, this new high speed train broke down so many times after being launched a few months back that it was withdrawn completely from the rail network.
Nice of them to let us know!!!
The result was that we needed to jump on another train… and then another. It put around an hour on the total journey time, but it didn’t really matter.
A couple of hours later, we were taxi-ing up to The Hilton Hotel – and it looked fab! It’s recently had a makeover and looks very posh. We’ve got a great room – massive TV, coffee maker, a Bose sound system… and even a bed!!!
We couldn’t be bothered to go out and look for a restaurant tonight, so we tried out the
hotel’s – The Stadshal. The service was poor but the food (just) made up for it. It was then back to ours to try out the Nespresso machine.
A lazy day planned for tomorrow!
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
