We drove over the Burghley House today to meet Nick & Celina. We spent most of the afternoon at Burghley. It’s certainly changed since we last looked round it in detail. They’ve added (amongst other things) ‘The Surprise Garden’, a kind of water based area with fountains and obelisks etc – nice!
The entrance area has also been modernised -now called the Brewhouse, opened in 2006 – to include an AV presentation with actors taking on the roles of past Earls talking us through their live at Burghley. One of the actors was Robin who I cast many years ago as ‘young man with leg in plaster’ for a training video for Sainsburys!
We then went to Stamford town to try out a newish pub called The ‘Toby Norris’. It’s an ex-RAF private club and the property goes back to 1260. Fantastic!
Then it was back to N and C’s for a superb Dinner and to see their completed kitchen and dining area.
We got home around 10.30pm.
I got into blogging quite late in life, not publishing my first post until 2004 – well into my 40s! My lifelong love of technology and communication (in all its forms), together with a fondness for the art of writing seemed to be the perfect combination to contribute a few words to the online community. But I’m no Samuel Pepys! If you’re looking for deep and meaningful comments on a variety of subjects, then you’ve arrived at the wrong site! I only pen for pleasure! On average, my posts appear about twice per month, covering family & friends, cinema visits, eating out, holiday experiences and techy stuff. Oh, and as this is my hobby, there are no sponsored links nor adverts here – it’s all done with love!
I hope you find it enjoyable, interesting and occasionally, even helpful!
